PERTE Textiles Project—Biobased finishes

Challenge: Create next-generation biobased chemistries that improve sustainability in textile finishing.

Solution: Research of eco-friendly auxiliaries and finishes for biobased textiles

Funding: PERTE Textiles (Category A – R&D), co-funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.

Recognition:

ADRASA also received the Innovative SME Seal from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain.

Impact: Reinforces ADRASA’s leadership in sustainable innovation and eco-design.

Valorisation of coffee waste — Project rCAFÉ

Challenge: Develop sustainable auxiliaries from coffee by-products as part of circular textile innovation.

Project: rCAFÉ — Research on coffee waste valorisation for textile applications.
Funding: Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) — Circular Economy Grants 2022 under the EU-funded NextGenerationEU framework.

Period: February 2023 – June 2024

Budget: €161,578.00
Impact: Progress toward a circular textile economy by transforming bio-waste into new-generation chemical solutions.

PFAS-free repellency with Staincare+

Challenge: Replace fluorochemical finishes with safe, high-performance alternatives.

Solution: Use of Staincare+, ADRASA’s PFA-free system for durable repellency and easy care.

Results:

  • Maintained breathability and softness
  • Excellent oil and water repellency
  • 100% PFAS-free formulation

Impact: Safer textiles for people and planet — compliant with ZDHC MRSL Level 3.

Eco-efficient finishing with ACF System

Challenge: Reduce energy and water consumption in dyeing and finishing processes without compromising colour performance.

Solution: Implementation of ADRASA’s ACF System — simultaneous pigment dyeing and finishing in a single bath.

Results:

  • 35% reduction in process time
  • 25% less energy use
  • Improved reproducibility and colour fastness

Impact: A practical step towards circular and low-impact manufacturing.
